The Family Child Learning Center operates
an
integrated research preschool program for children three to five years of age
who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. The classroom is based upon
Developmentally Appropriate Practice principles and incorporates
specialized instructional procedures to address the individual needs
of children and to meet the National Research Council's
recommendations for educating children with autism. The program also has a strong parent education component
consisting of bi-weekly parent sessions designed to help parents and
other caregivers use Responsive Instruction to promote their
children's learning, communication and social-emotional well-being in
their natural environment. The program runs Monday through Thursday
from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Who is eligible?
Children between three to five years of age who have a diagnosis of
Autism Spectrum Disorder.
What does it cost?
We will be utilizing monies from the Autism Scholarship Program.
